Wells, Maine, will renovate the fire substation on North Berwick Road to establish a new base for Wells Emergency Medical Services (EMS) due to uncertainties surrounding the merger between York Hospital and MaineHealth. The project, designed by Lavallee-Brensinger Architects, is projected to cost $4.4 million and will include new offices, sleeping quarters, and additional truck bays. Public hearings will be held by the Wells Select Board before the proposal is presented to voters in November.
