Winchester Science Centre Upgrades to Air Source Heat Pumps in £700,000 Sustainability Initiative
FLOW CONTROL
Winchester Science Centre has completed a £700,000 upgrade, replacing its oil heating system with air source heat pumps. This project, the centre's largest sustainability investment in 25 years, involved the installation of five heat pumps, significantly reducing reliance on fossil fuels.
The new system was commissioned in January after two years of planning. The previous oil system consumed up to 1,000 liters of oil per week, making it the largest carbon emitter for the center.
