Yokogawa Electric Corp. has joined Open Invention Network 2.0 (OIN 2.0) to strengthen intellectual-property protection for Linux-based offshore automation systems. This initiative supports multi-vendor integration and remote operations using Yokogawa's OpreX platforms.
The expanded OIN framework includes patent protections in AI, machine learning, and energy systems, enhancing stability and security for remote operations. Yokogawa identifies its OpreX Collaborative Information Server as a key beneficiary, with expectations for future adoption of open-architecture initiatives.
