Zimbabwe Seeks US$9 Billion in Energy Investments to Double Power Generation by 2030

Zimbabwe is seeking up to US$9 billion in investments to more than double its power generation capacity from nearly 3,000 MW to over 5,400 MW by 2030. At a recent conference, Energy Minister July Moyo outlined plans for policy reforms and competitive tariffs to attract private investment, aiming to secure US$4.42 billion by 2026 while also enhancing the country's renewable energy mix from 7.8% to 29%. The government is addressing infrastructure challenges and legacy debts to facilitate this investment drive.
