£200m A47 Thickthorn Road Revamp to Cause Two Weeks of Delays Starting February 16

WIND ENERGY

The A47 Thickthorn road revamp will induce two weeks of delays starting February 16 due to engineering works. Temporary two-way traffic lights will be installed and operated 24/7, managed by High Voltage Systems and Services (HVSS) for utility upgrades.

Skanska, appointed by National Highways, is overseeing the £200m project that began in January 2025, which includes new slip roads to alleviate congestion. Additionally, the eastbound A47 will close on February 8 for transformer deliveries related to the Hornsea 3 Offshore Wind Farm.
