WATER INFRASTRUCTURE & DESALINATION
A £3.6 million upgrade of the wastewater network in Bellaghy is underway, focusing on installing larger diameter sewers to increase capacity and reduce flooding risks. The project includes enhancements at the Bellaghy Wastewater Treatment Works and is being conducted by contractor Murphy Dawson WAM, with an archaeologist monitoring the site for significant finds. Scheduled for completion in early 2027, the initiative aims to improve environmental protection and accommodate future development.
