BIOFUELS

The agriculture department has launched a pilot scheme to establish 45 biogas units in Maloli village, Sattari taluka, aimed at providing economic and environmental benefits to farmers. With 38 units already installed, the project utilizes cattle dung to generate household gas, and if successful, an additional 100 units may be proposed next year. Beneficiaries will receive support through the agriculture department's subsidy scheme, facilitated by former panchayat member Prashant Marathe.
