A recent Amárach survey shows 85% of Irish SMEs consider sustainability crucial, with 40% having retrofitted buildings for energy efficiency. Minister Peter Burke announced the findings, highlighting barriers to sustainability such as upfront costs for 44% of businesses.
The Energy Efficiency Grant offers up to €10,000 to support retrofitting. The survey also explored interest in the circular economy, indicating that 35% of businesses already participate and a quarter of non-participants are interested. The Climate Toolkit for Business is available to help SMEs measure their carbon footprint.
