Abu Dhabi Ports Group, through its subsidiary SAFEEN Drydocks, has acquired Balenciaga Astilleros Shipyard in Spain for $13.1 million, enhancing its operations in the Mediterranean and supporting expansion into the offshore wind sector. The shipyard, which will be renamed Balenciaga Shipyard, brings nearly a century of shipbuilding expertise and infrastructure, including two drydocks and a slipway. This acquisition is expected to create over 50 skilled jobs and bolster ongoing specialized vessel projects in collaboration with Masdar.
