Recent weeks have seen a surge in solar and battery projects in Australia's energy market. Acen Australia has introduced a 200 MW battery energy storage system at the New England solar farm, supported by the NSW government's $75 million Emerging Energy Program.

Additionally, Global Power Generation and European Energy have proposed new solar farms in Queensland and Victoria, respectively, with power purchase agreements from Telstra and Apple. Meanwhile, new wind projects, including the Twin Hills wind farm in Western Australia and a 600 MW wind farm in Queensland, are entering the federal environmental assessment queue.
