Active Energy Group plc has completed a strategic review of its CoalSwitch® technology and will collaborate with Indigenous Canadian Energy (ICE) to advance commercialization. The review determined that partnering with ICE, which specializes in Steam-Enhanced Biofuel Pellets (SEBP), is the most viable approach.

Both companies will develop the first ICE/CoalSwitch® Validation Plant, an industrial-scale facility for demonstrating technology, validating feedstocks, and providing samples for commercial guarantees and funding. AEG's management has assessed ICE's capabilities, concluding that ICE's established program supports CoalSwitch® commercialization. The Validation Plant aims to serve as a reference site for global partners seeking validated biomass solutions.
