AFC Energy PLC has launched its first 30kW liquid-cooled hydrogen fuel cell generator, the LC30, which boasts an 85% reduction in manufacturing costs, is 50% lighter, and occupies 45% less volume than previous models. Designed for global deployment, the generator operates efficiently in temperatures ranging from -20°C to +50°C and is part of AFC's strategy to replace diesel generators in off-grid markets. The company plans to offer hydrogen on-site at £10/kg, aiming for cost parity with diesel through its hydrogen-as-a-service model.
