ENERGY STORAGESOLAR ENERGY
Africa is set to implement solar projects totaling 148 GW to provide electricity to 600 million people lacking access and to reduce fossil fuel dependence. Key initiatives include major developments in Northern Africa, such as Libya's 25,000 MW project and Mauritania's 30,000 MW Megaton Moon project, alongside local manufacturing efforts and regional interconnections aimed at facilitating electricity trade. The financing required for these energy goals is estimated at USD 277 billion annually, with only 11% currently secured.
