Two major research hubs in South Africa and Morocco are positioning Africa as a potential leader in global hydrogen production. Vaal University of Technology has launched a center for hydrogen energy, while Morocco's Mohammed VI Polytechnic University is advancing electrolyzer technology.

Both centers focus on developing efficient hydrogen production and storage systems, supported by significant financial investments.
