Africa Poised to Lead Global Hydrogen Production with New Research Hubs in South Africa and Morocco
HYDROGEN
Two major research hubs in South Africa and Morocco are positioning Africa as a potential leader in global hydrogen production. Vaal University of Technology has launched a center for hydrogen energy, while Morocco's Mohammed VI Polytechnic University is advancing electrolyzer technology.
Both centers focus on developing efficient hydrogen production and storage systems, supported by significant financial investments. As the continent strengthens its hydrogen infrastructure and expertise, it may shift from a resource-dependent economy to a global technology supplier in sustainable energy.
