Algeria Launches 15GW Renewable Energy Plan to Boost Green Hydrogen Investments

Algeria has launched a renewable energy plan aimed at producing 15 gigawatts (GW) of electricity, with a focus on attracting investment in green hydrogen. The initiative, which includes solar, wind, and water power, is designed to meet domestic electricity needs and facilitate exports, with an initial phase targeting the generation of 1,100 megawatts (MW) starting in June. Energy Minister Mourad Adjal emphasized the plan's role in diversifying energy sources and promoting sustainable development.
