The Port of Alicante has initiated a preliminary market consultation to prepare for the concession of a green hydrogen production plant, part of its sustainability strategy to become a Mediterranean energy hub. Named Portali H2, the project aligns with EU decarbonization goals, including the European Green Deal and the Fit for 55 plan. Open until September 30, 2025, the initiative aims to encourage broad private sector participation and seeks to identify viable technologies and designs for the plant, which will have a minimum capacity of 1 MW.
