Ambartec's H2compact 6000 Hydrogen Storage Receives Certification for Series Production

HYDROGEN

The H2compact 6000 hydrogen storage unit, holding 6,000 liters, has been tested by LRQA Germany and is expected to receive CE certification soon. Ambartec plans to begin series production in collaboration with partner Purem in Wilsdruff, Saxony, with the first containers available to customers next year.

Purem will develop a modular production concept and provide expertise in industrialization. The Ambartec storage system utilizes iron oxide nuggets that react with hydrogen to form metallic iron and water vapor, allowing for efficient hydrogen extraction.

The storage capacity is specified at 800 kg of hydrogen or 26 megawatt-hours, designed for easy transport in standard 20-foot containers. This method can utilize various gas sources, including blast furnace gases.
