Annamalai University Receives ₹3.55 Crore Research Funding from NLCIL's R&D Wing

Four faculty members from Annamalai University have been awarded ₹3.55 crore in research funding by the Centre for Applied Research and Development (CARD) of NLC India Ltd. (NLCIL). Prof.

C.G. Saravanan has received ₹96.88 lakh to develop an automated monitoring and defect detection system for conveyor belts in mining operations. Prof.

V. Balasubramanian was awarded ₹99.40 lakh for a project focused on producing new metals from burnt coal ash using plasma spray technology. Prof.

P. Prem Kumar received ₹95.84 lakh for generating renewable hydrogen from biogas through advanced parabolic solar heating. Lastly, Prof.

A. Gopalakrishnan obtained ₹63.44 lakh to study the effects of lignite-derived humic acid on microbial diseases in brackish water aquaculture systems. CARD will implement these projects in collaboration with the University.
