An anonymous donor has gifted 21 kilograms of gold, valued at approximately $3.6 million, to Osaka for water infrastructure renewal. The donation was made in November and will be converted into cash for urgent repairs.

The donor had previously contributed $3,300 for the same cause. The funds will address chronic drainage issues and aging pipes in the city's water system, which serves nearly three million residents and has faced rising costs.
