ANRE Suspends Wind Farm Authorization for Aukera Due to Funding Issues Amid Calls for Energy Sector Reform

The National Energy Regulatory Authority (ANRE) in Romania has suspended for the first time an authorization for a wind farm project by Aukera Project Company Epsilon due to the lack of proof of funding. ANRE's president, George Niculescu, emphasized a zero-tolerance policy for speculative projects hindering the energy grid.
The applicant has three months to prove funding or the authorization will be revoked. The decision follows concerns raised by Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan regarding the disparity between installed capacity and technical approvals.
