Apex Clean Energy Launches Virginia's First Wind Farm to Power Google Data Centers

The Rocky Forge Wind Project, Virginia's first land-based wind farm, is under construction in Botetourt County. Developed by Apex Clean Energy, it will have a capacity of 75 to 79.3 megawatts, supplying electricity to about 21,000 homes.
The project is expected to generate up to 250 jobs during construction and between $20 million and $30 million in tax revenue. Electricity will be sold to Google under a long-term agreement. The farm is set to begin operations by late 2026.
