Auckland's first plug-in hybrid-electric fast ferry has excelled in sea trials and will soon operate on the Auckland to Devonport route. Designed by Incat Crowther and built by Q-West Boat Builders, the vessel will cut carbon emissions by 750,000 kg per year. It can carry 299 passengers and 20 bicycles at speeds up to 28 knots, featuring advanced digital shipbuilding technology and future adaptability for hydrogen fuel.
