Australia Approves Largest Battery Storage Farm Near Lidsdale by 2030
STRATEGIC MINERALSENERGY STORAGEFLOW CONTROL
The Australian government has approved the nation's largest battery storage farm near Lidsdale, with a capacity of 3500 megawatt hours, set for completion by 2030. The project is on a 620-hectare site owned by Greenspot, which plans to develop 1200 homes alongside the battery farm.
This site has a history of failed industrial proposals due to electricity costs, including plans for an aluminium smelter and a silicon processing complex. Additionally, approvals were granted for two pumped hydro projects in NSW, with completion also targeted for 2030.
