Bhutan has launched two solar power projects, including a 240 kW grid-integrated system and a 25 kW off-grid project at Jigme Namgyel Engineering College, as well as a 200 kW rooftop project at the College of Science and Technology in Phuentsholing. These initiatives are supported by a Rs 4,000 crore line of credit from India, following a collaboration agreement signed during Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi's visit in November 2025, aimed at enhancing renewable energy capacity through joint research and technology sharing.
