Block Energy plc has successfully demonstrated rapid and permanent CO₂ mineralization in its Phase 1 carbon capture and storage pilot in Georgia, achieving a conversion rate of 70% to 100% for 13.6 tons of injected CO₂. Post-injection analysis confirmed the transformation into solid carbonate minerals, with no gaseous CO₂ detected at the surface. The pilot lays a strong technical foundation for future phases, which will focus on refining storage capacity estimates and exploring commercialization opportunities with joint venture partner Rustavi Azot.
