BMW Group is introducing Physical AI to Europe with a pilot project at its Leipzig plant, integrating humanoid robots into car production. Following a successful pilot in the U.S. at Spartanburg, the company aims to enhance production efficiency and explore applications in battery manufacturing.

The initiative is supported by a unified IT and data model, facilitating the use of AI across production processes. The project, developed in collaboration with Hexagon Robotics, is expected to advance humanoid robotics in real-world conditions, with further testing planned for 2026.
