Boralex Inc. has launched the Sanjgon Battery Energy Storage project in partnership with Walpole Island First Nation in Lakeshore, Ontario, marking its first operational energy storage site in North America. With a capacity of 80 MW and 320 MWh, the project supports Boralex's 2030 Strategy and includes a Community Benefit Agreement to fund local initiatives. This development is part of Ontario's efforts to enhance grid reliability, increasing Boralex's total storage capacity in Canada to 380 MW, solidifying its position as the largest battery storage operator in the country.
