Brazilian Scientists Develop Catalyst for 100% Ethanol to Hydrogen Conversion

HYDROGEN

Researchers at Brazil's Ipen have developed a ceramic catalyst that achieves 100% conversion of ethanol to hydrogen, enhancing renewable fuel efficiency. The catalyst demonstrates stability for up to 85 hours, yielding 4.04 moles of hydrogen per mole of ethanol.

This advancement is significant amid the push for clean energy solutions and aims to reduce reliance on precious metals, utilizing more abundant nickel instead. The findings are published in the International Journal of Hydrogen Energy.
