CARBON CAPTURE

The Breeding Waders European Innovation Partnership (EIP) has managed 2,340ha for wader conservation, aiming for over 12,000ha. Initiated in 2024, the project focuses on curlew, redshank, golden plover, lapwing, and snipe.

Approximately 170 landowners are involved, implementing habitat protection, predator control, and water management during the nesting season. The EIP emphasizes collaboration with farmers to reverse bird population declines in Ireland.
