The Belize Cabinet has endorsed a US$10 million loan from the Inter-American Development Bank for a wastewater collection and treatment system in Caye Caulker Village. The project aims to address sanitation issues and improve public health.

Implementation will start with procurement in six months, followed by three years of construction. Initially, the project will cover south Caye Caulker, with plans for north Caye Caulker considered later.
