California regulators have approved a $1.1 billion funding package aimed at zero-emission transit fleets, rail infrastructure, and repair work, with delivery expected by early 2026. The California Transportation Commission approved the funding during its Dec. 4-5 meeting, distributing funds across various programs for transit fleet modernization and roadway repairs.

This funding draws on state and federal sources and aligns with Senate Bill 125, which supports transit agencies recovering from pandemic impacts. Key allocations include $53 million for 12 clean-energy locomotives for Metrolink and $57 million for repairs on State Route 1.

Additionally, $9.5 million will fund a multimodal mobility center in Santa Maria. The investments focus on enhancing infrastructure and decarbonization efforts, with many projects aimed at replacing diesel with electric and hydrogen vehicles.
