California Assemblymember Proposes Changes to Fund Tijuana River Projects

California Assemblymember David Alvarez has introduced Assembly Bill 35 to streamline the allocation of $10 billion from Proposition 4 for environmental projects, including $30 million for the Tijuana River. The bill, which aims to reduce procedural delays and potentially expedite funding by 12 to 18 months, has received unanimous support from the Natural Resources Committee and is pending a hearing in the Assembly Appropriations Committee. Additionally, Senator Steve Padilla's bill on hydrogen sulfide measurement standards has also advanced in the legislative process.
