Cameroon is in the final stages of negotiations with GDS Orion Solar to develop a 30 MW solar power plant in Ngaoundéré, featuring a 20 MWh battery storage system. Minister Gaston Eloundou Essomba confirmed that technical studies are complete and a draft power purchase agreement is ready, following approval from the Ministry of Finance. This project, initiated by a French consortium in 2018, aims to improve electricity supply in northern Cameroon and represents a significant advancement in the region's renewable energy capacity.
