In August 2025, Concordia University students launched Starsailor, Canada's first liquid-fuel rocket in nearly three decades, from Mistissini, Québec, showcasing the country's technical launch capabilities. However, the absence of a regulatory and commercial framework hinders large-scale operations, emphasizing the need for a sovereign launch capability to support Canada's strategic goals, including international missions like Canadarm3 and a lunar rover.
