CARBON CAPTURE

The carbon accelerator programme for the environment (Cape) is set to address the significant funding gap for carbon markets in Africa, estimated between $598 billion and $824 billion. With a focus on integrity projects benefiting biodiversity, Cape aims to enhance confidence in these markets and catalyze investment.

Among its initiatives is the Gashaka Gumti forest carbon project in Nigeria, which utilizes assisted natural regeneration to protect ecosystems and support local communities. Cape was launched to provide essential funding and advisory support for nature-based carbon projects across Africa.
