Carbon Capital Invests N$140 Million in Low-Emission Charcoal Production in Namibia
CARBON CAPTURE
Carbon Capital has invested over N$140 million in Namibia to produce low-emission charcoal by capturing and recycling smoke, aiming to produce up to 15,000 tonnes of sustainably certified charcoal annually. This initiative, operational since 2021, targets export markets in Europe and aligns with Namibia's Sixth National Development Plan and Vision 2030, promoting environmental sustainability and economic transformation. Additionally, the company’s technology allows for the production of biochar, which enhances soil quality and supports carbon removal efforts.
