The Carbon Trust and the Business Network for Offshore Wind have signed a Memorandum of Understanding to collaborate on offshore wind development in North America. Their focus will include offshore wind measurement and understanding met-ocean conditions to mitigate risks for potential wind farm sites in U.S. waters.

The partnership aims to remove barriers and accelerate commercial-scale offshore wind development in the U.S., leveraging Carbon Trust's 15 years of European offshore wind expertise and the Business Network's local knowledge. The U.S. offshore wind sector is projected to grow significantly, supported by an estimated $300 billion investment that could add about 10GW to existing capacity over the next decade.
