CarbonRun Achieves Carbon Capture Milestone with River Liming Project in Nova Scotia and Norway
CARBON CAPTURE
CarbonRun, a Nova Scotia-based company, has achieved a milestone in carbon capture through its river liming project, which uses crushed limestone to store carbon dioxide in rivers. This process has earned the company carbon credits, verified by Isometric, making it the first of its kind globally.
The project, which targets the Kvina River in Norway, aims to remove approximately 55,000 tonnes of CO2 from the atmosphere between 2025 and 2029. It also supports salmon populations and river health.
