Cargill has installed a 2.58 megawatt solar array at its Newcastle Crush Plant in Australia, featuring over 4,000 panels that will generate more than 4,200 megawatt hours of electricity annually. This initiative aims to enhance sustainability, reduce electricity costs by approximately $600,000, and is part of Cargill's broader goal to cut emissions by 25% by 2035. Other food manufacturers in the region are also pursuing solar and bioenergy projects to bolster sustainability efforts.
