The Clane-Maynooth Municipal District has proposed the installation of CCTV to tackle litter blackspots. This suggestion arose during a meeting on February 6, prompted by Fine Gael Cllr William Durkan's inquiry to Kildare County Council (KCC).

KCC outlined that CCTV could help deter littering and provide evidence for prosecutions under existing regulations. The initiative would follow statutory processes and be evaluated on a site-specific basis.
