Charbone Hydrogen Begins Commercial Production of Ultra High Purity Hydrogen at Sorel-Tracy Facility
Charbone Hydrogen has commenced commercial production of clean ultra-high-purity (UHP) hydrogen at its Sorel-Tracy facility, marking the transition to the initial commercial production phase. This milestone indicates progress in Charbone's modular deployment strategy and contributes to Quebec's clean hydrogen market.
The successful commissioning of Phase 1A equipment confirms Charbone's operational capabilities and supports its clean-energy mission by providing zero-carbon electrolytic hydrogen sourced from renewable energy. This development aligns with Charbone's vision for a distributed network of UHP hydrogen and specialty-gas facilities, aimed at reducing transport emissions and enhancing regional industrial gas supply chains. While there are inherent risks in early commercial phases, this achievement strengthens Charbone's position in the hydrogen value chain and meets demand for low-carbon industrial gas solutions.
