Charles Cogar Joins Holland & Hart as Senior Director of Federal Affairs Amid Firm's Lobbying Expansion

STRATEGIC MINERALS

Charles Cogar has left his position as chief of staff for Senate Banking Chair Tim Scott to join Holland & Hart as a senior director of federal affairs. This move is part of the firm's expansion of its federal lobbying practice, which previously focused on energy, environmental, and natural resources issues.

Andrew Wheeler, former EPA administrator, is leading this expansion, indicating that Cogar's experience in banking and cryptocurrency will be beneficial. Cogar plans to register as a lobbyist after a yearlong cooling-off period.

Concurrently, the oil and gas industry is advocating for the SPEED Act, aimed at easing environmental reviews, while House Republicans face pressure to address pharmacy benefit managers in a health care package. Additionally, Avery Ash has been appointed CEO of Securing America's Future Energy, focusing on critical minerals policy.
