Charleston, S.C. has completed a $10 million upgrade to the Concord Street Pump Station, aimed at reducing flooding on the East Side. The station, operational since 2000, serves 240 acres and has increased its flow rate from 120,000 to 140,000 gallons per minute.

The project included new pumps and upgraded systems while maintaining operation during construction. This upgrade is part of a broader city strategy to address flooding, with additional drainage projects planned for various areas.
