Chile's BESS Paicaví Energy Storage Project Gains Environmental Approval for 150 MW Capacity
ENERGY STORAGEPOWER GRIDS & TRANSMISSION
The Environmental Assessment Committee of Chile's Metropolitan Region approved the BESS Paicaví project, which will store surplus energy from the Mariscal substation. The project includes 150 containers with a capacity of 5,000 kWh each and a total investment of $90 million. Construction is set to begin on June 1, 2027, creating local jobs and enhancing grid stability.
