Chile's Copper Production Declines Despite 43% Price Increase in 2025

In 2025, copper production in Chile fell nearly 2% to 5.415 million tons despite a 43% price increase. Only eight of the 17 major private copper mines increased production, while the total output from these mines dropped by almost 3%.

Codelco's production slightly rose by 0.45%. Challenges included aging mines and lower ore grades, with Collahuasi experiencing the largest decrease at 27%. Analysts highlight structural issues in the industry, indicating a need for investment to maintain future production levels.
