HYDROGENSYNTHETIC FUELS

Chile's development agency Corfo has allocated $10 million in subsidies for two green hydrogen projects in the Biobío region, with each project receiving $5 million. The MarVal project will establish a 350-tonne per year hydrogen refueling station in collaboration with the University of Concepción, while Fosfoquim, in partnership with Occidental Chemical and Eka Chile, aims to build a 1,000-tonne per year green hydrogen plant in Talcahuano. Both initiatives are set for completion in six years and are part of Chile's strategy to become a leading exporter of green hydrogen by 2040.
