China Advances High-Altitude Wind Power Technology for Green Development
WIND ENERGYSOLAR ENERGY
China has successfully tested a high-altitude wind power system in Inner Mongolia, designed to harness wind energy at altitudes above 300 meters, aligning with its green development goals. In 2024, the country added nearly 80 million kilowatts of wind power capacity, making up 68.2% of the global increase, and by early 2025, wind and photovoltaic generation accounted for 22.5% of China's total power usage. A roadmap announced in December 2025 targets 15 gigawatts of solar thermal power by 2030 to support carbon neutrality efforts.
