The Songyuan Green Power-Green Hydrogen-Pure Hydrogen Metallurgy Project, led by the China Iron & Steel Research Institute, is underway in Songyuan City. With an investment of 11.8 billion yuan, the project aims for a 1.2 million-ton-per-year pure hydrogen metallurgical output and includes a 780,000-kilowatt new energy project. Phase I began construction on April 30, 2025, and is projected to generate nearly 1.3 billion yuan in annual revenue upon completion.
