China Launches World's Largest Compressed Air Energy Storage Facility in Jiangsu

China has launched the world's largest compressed air energy storage facility in Jiangsu, developed by Harbin Electric Corporation. With two 300-megawatt units and a total capacity of 2,400 megawatt-hours, the facility aims to generate 792 million kilowatt-hours annually, serving 600,000 households while significantly reducing coal consumption and carbon emissions. This initiative aligns with China's target of achieving over 180 gigawatts of energy storage capacity by 2027.
