The China Energy Engineering Group Co. (CEEC) has announced a decarbonization strategy to convert retiring coal-fired power plants into nuclear facilities. This "coal to nuclear" (C2N) initiative aims to leverage existing infrastructure to expedite the construction of new reactors, with approximately 100 GW of coal capacity set for retirement in the next five years.
